FAQ

Here you can find some questions that we often receive.

How do I submit a potential translation?

Please email us at sempreverba@gmail.com or request a quote by clicking on the top right bottom of your screen.

What languages do you offer?

Professional translators almost exclusively translate into their mother tongue and we make no exceptions to this rule. We offer translation and interpreting services in the following language combinations:

  • Bosnian <> Dutch
  • Croatian <> Dutch
  • English > Dutch
  • Montenegrin <> Dutch
  • Serbian <> Dutch

Need a translation into another European language, translated by native speakers? With an extensive network of professional colleagues, Sempre Verba is the one to assist you.

How much does a translation cost?

Each translation project is different and depends on the number of words, the complexity of the text, the language combination, and the deadline. We approach each translation individually and it is therefore impossible to give a standard price for a translation.

Feel free to contact us for a free personalized quote.

How much does an interpreter cost?

If you are looking for interpreting services, we use the Ordinance on permanent court interpreters adopted in the Dutch Law on Tariffs in Criminal Matters pursuant to Article 4 of the Judiciary Act as a guideline. The court interpreter is entitled to a reimbursement of expenses incurred in connection with the translation.

Do you offer any discounts?

If you are a returning customer, you will be ordering services at a preferred price based on your use statistics.

How do I receive my translation?

You will receive your translation by e-mail. Sworn translations are sent via Dutch postage, since the hard copy has the force of an official document.

My documents are confidential. Can I trust you?

Absolutely, you can have full confidence in us. At Sempre Verba, only the translator sees your text, whereas at large translation companies your document will end up on a server that many employees can access.

Even more, our translators are bound by a self-imposed pledge of confidentiality regarding the content. All of our clients know their texts are safe with us.

Why should I choose you instead of a large agency?

For more than 30 years, international businesses have relied on us to deliver the right message at the right time. To our clients we are more than a supplier – we are a partner. We assure you to provide top quality translations for even the most complex and challenging projects.

There are many benefits of working with Sempre Verba that large agencies usually don’t have:

+ Moneywise
It’s cheaper! You will avoid the costs of management that agencies normally include.

+ Individual approach
We will be your partner – not just a service provider. Quality requires commitment and good communication.

+ Trust and transparency
Sempre Verba is an official translation and interpreting company registered at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.

+ Native speakers
Professional translators almost exclusively translate into their mother tongue.

+ Speed and accuracy

Our team of professionals translates your materials with the greatest care, according to your requirements.

What is a certified translation?

Certified translations are more official than translations simply performed by native speakers or even regular translators, because only translators who are certified can perform them.

In addition, certified translations have to include a statement from the translator that says the content has been completely and accurately translated by a certified professional. The translator then needs to include their signature and contact information.

What is a sworn translation?

Sworn translations receive an official stamp and signature from a translator whose name appears in the Dutch register of sworn interpreters and translators (RBTV).  The sworn translator certifies the authenticity, completeness and accuracy of the translation.

Each sworn translation must be attached to the original document or a copy thereof in a fraud-proof way. The translators guarantee that the translation is faithful to the original, marking each page with their stamp and signature. It contains the confirmation that guarantees the faithfulness of the translated text to the original.

The translation must be certified when exercising rights in any proceedings at official institutions, courts, government bodies, and public notaries. In such cases, an official translation may be required. Only a sworn translation has the probative force of an official document.

Can you provide me with interpreting or subtitling services?

Absolutely. For linguistic specializations, Sempre Verba is the expert you are looking for.

Our interpreting services are offered by translators appointed by the president of the county or the commercial court. They guarantee that the translation is faithful to the original using their stamp and signature.

We have become an expert in the subtitling industry and our team can provide high quality translations of subtitles for all types of audio-visual content – including film, television, e-learning modules, and promotional videos.

What does Sempre Verba mean?

Sempre Verba derives from Latin which translates as “always words”. Without any words, there would be no books, no conversation, no understanding and thus no translation. At Sempre Verba, it is our primary goal to make words and meaning matter. We have chosen for a Latin expression, since many world languages descend from it and believe it is a very powerful and beautiful language.
